Position Overview

The Production Planning Scheduler is responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining production schedules for VT and VA facilities to ensure that manufacturing processes flow efficiently. This role involves coordinating with various departments to optimize production and minimize delays.

Role & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules in line with company objectives and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Analyze and anticipate future production demands and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Work closely with the production team to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules for unforeseen delays or changes.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders about schedule changes and their implications.
  • Utilize ERP systems for scheduling and to provide reports on production status.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and capacity.
  • Work with engineering team on product development and work order creation within schedule requirements.
  • Create and edit bill of materials for all manufactured products.
  • Communicate with customer relations team to provide product ETAs and facilitate work order changes.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand product workflows.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning principles.
  • Ability to work independently to start and finish responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to direct people so the work is completed in a timely manner.
Education and Experience:
  • Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Requirements
  • Ability to work in an office setting and visit the production floor as needed.
  • May require occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
